meia created this retractable sliding pocket wall that retracts into an invisible slot, allowing the rooms to merge seamlessly. The wall separates or joins two adjacent rooms quickly and easily in just 12 seconds.

The movement is quiet and smooth for maximum elegance. Safety torque sensors on the drive system eliminate the risk of people or objects being trapped or injured.

Such walls can be clad to match décor, from simple wallpapered or painted finishes to marble, glass or polished metal.

A key feature of this wall is that, despite its 350kg weight, it operates without tracks on the floor finish. This allows an uninterrupted walking surface. Due to the high weights involved we supply a fully bespoke, heavy duty hidden track/carriage/drive system in the ceiling void.

In the event of emergencies, the system allows manual movement, or we can supply additional battery backup powered operation.

As this wall operates with a closing joint of 2mm, we use particularly rigid framing techniques to ensure an accurate installation. This also prevents any cladding from warping the frame, allowing for the use of different materials on different faces.

Frames can be pre-manufactured off-site, dismantled and then reassembled inside the house if getting such large frames into a house in one piece is a challenge.

As with all our large installations, there is almost no limit to where we can deliver and install our products. We use specialised lifting and moving equipment when necessary, always carefully planned down to the finest detail, supported by method and safety statements.
